Job description Multiple Federal Government contract opportunities Locations: Chatswood, Bankstown, Newcastle, Gosford, Wollongong & Taree APS6 Project Officer – $60.26/hr Super APS5 Project Officer – $55.24/hr Super Contract till 31 Dec 2026 with possible extension Hybrid work arrangements Australian Citizenship required About the Roles We are seeking experienced APS5 and APS6 Project Officers – Governance to join a high-performing government team delivering governance, communication, and operational support within a fast-paced environment. These roles will support senior leadership through governance coordination, executive reporting, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communication activities. Successful candidates will contribute to effective decision-making processes while ensuring compliance with legislative and policy frameworks. APS6 Project Officers will lead governance and secretariat activities, provide high-level advice, and manage complex priorities. APS5 Project Officers will support governance delivery through coordination, reporting, administration, and stakeholder support. Key Responsibilities – APS6 Project Officer – Governance Provide high-level governance and corporate support to senior leadership Lead preparation and quality assurance of executive briefings, reports, and correspondence Deliver end-to-end secretariat support for governance forums and executive meetings Provide timely, accurate, and well-researched advice to support decision-making Monitor project deliverables, risks, and outcomes across the division Translate complex information into clear and audience-appropriate communications Support continuous improvement in governance and communication processes Ensure compliance with legislation, policy, and governance frameworks Key Responsibilities – APS5 Project Officer – Governance Provide governance and administrative support to senior leaders Coordinate meetings, action tracking, reporting, and documentation Prepare briefs, correspondence, reports, and communication materials Perform administrative and procedural tasks in line with policy and compliance requirements Support governance processes and stakeholder engagement activities Assist with SharePoint content management and communications distribution Monitor workflows, competing priorities, and escalate risks where required Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and governance practices Essential Criteria – APS6 Demonstrated experience supporting governance and executive decision-making Highly developed written communication and analytical skills Experience leading governance or secretariat functions in complex environments Ability to interpret legislation, policies, and governance frameworks Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure Essential Criteria – APS5 Strong governance and administrative support capability Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to prepare accurate briefs, reports, and documentation Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and support operational outcomes Sound judgement and ability to work within policy and procedural frameworks Desirable Criteria (Both Roles) Experience providing governance or secretariat support within government or large, complex organisations Experience using SharePoint to manage content and support communication strategies Understanding of risk management and continuous improvement practices To Apply To be considered for these roles, applicants must hold Australian Citizenship.
